The Kitten Catcher
Now there once was a wee little kitten
who was happy, though slightly flea-bitten
but he made a mistake
and showed up at the gate
of a girl who was really cat-smitten.
Her behavior seemed really uncivil!
In a bathtub with water a-swivel
he thought he would drown
as he plunged up and down
for so long that he started to shrivel.
But when dry and the torture had ended
when he no longer felt so offended
and when he'd been fed
and snuggled in bed
he was grateful to have been befriended.
The moral of my tale is this:
If you're independent and hiss
stay away from her door
or you'll lose so much more
in exchange for a lifetime of bliss!
